Mid-Century Addition

Architect: Designer: Diane Burcz

Nestled on a hillside in Newton, this mid - century modern home was designed by a collaborator of Walter Gropius named Samuel Glaser and built in 1949. A relocated California couple hired S+H Construction to renovate the basement, build a kitchen / mudroom addition and improve the access to the backyard. Working with the owner, Diane Burcz who is an interior designer, S+H provided the bones of the renovation while Diane sourced many of the casework and finishes. We also did extensive sitework, including landscaping and stonework, along with drainage at the back of the property.
